Playa Samara

SO I have been in Playa Samara for over a month.  I don't know what Samara means in spanish but I think it could mean the place where horses run free- thats right.  One of the many amazing things about Samara is that the Horses run free, and usually around 5pm, right about then the sun is setting and creating a beautiful light throughout the land, the horses leave their field and run along the beach, then they decide to turn up on the to main street and cut through town.  I have gotten used to not having my camera, but moments like these make me miss it so.

Okay so rewind. I arrived in the night of Nov. 12th, a Friday.  I head to the Intercultura Lanuage School.  Thats where CREAR's office is located.  I find it.  Woah, Samara is so different to me now then it was two weeks ago when we first arrived for the birthday of Hayley- the 1st.  Now it's now raining, and I am able to take in my surroundings with a more relaxed and open mind. SO I find the school with the help of a local artistan.  I guess he was heading that way- so the school is right in front of the beach.  I big building with a large yard, una tarima and a patio for the students.  I head on in, and find the CREAR office, there is Andrea- FINALLY! I made it.  I am so glad to be just worring about myself.  It truly makes a big difference in traveling if you only have to worry about one... numero 1= yo!  SO I met Andrea- it feels like I have known her for sometime because we had been writing back and forth in emails for about a year, and I am so jazzed that the time to work together has finally arrived.  She tells me that the apartment is ready and the rent is LESS then I thought! Double YES!  She calls a cab and we head on over to my little place- its located right outside of the main 'downtown' area in a barrio- se llaman Cangrejal.

We take a cab over there and Andrea introduces me to the Landlord. I think her name is Leigh, but I really don't know... isn't that bad? I have been living there for over a month and I don't know her name. I am 95% its Leigh, but I refer to her as La Duena.  I guess if I need to talk to her specifically I will call her Senora... Anyway- the apartment is small, but has everything I need, queen size bed, kitchen with appliances; rice cooker, frig, two hot plates, cafetera, drip coffee thing they call a Chorreador- and Im as happy a clam (or maybe I should say a crab- considering I live in Cangrejal- the reason for this I find about a week into my life here- Its called Cangrejal because of the Cangrejos that live near the beach- during the rainy season there are sooo many in this area, and lost of them enter the houses and stuff- so it's a place for the crabs :) cute-) anyway its a friday night and Andrea mention some Reggea night, but I just think Id rather upack and settle in! I am here! I have made it! I am soooo happy to be here. Tomorrows plan; pick up bike, then the BEACH, then for the evening out.  Andrea opened a bar a year ago and that saturday was the first night of the season...

And I realize I am writing to much again.  Let me recompose and begin again.... Okay- brain storm SAMARA a month in one post---- proves difficult.
