yuck- jaco
11/2- Oh so why south mellen- well when we went to the bar in Samara, it was only guys and they seemed kinda strange soooo Hayley was joking and said Samara was going to be like South Mellen- kinda mean, and maybe I shouldn't put that here, but I did. What cha gonna do about it....
SO 11/2- Rain
Whats the point of being at the beach if it's raining. Also I didn't want my idea of Samara to get any worse... so we deceided to hit to road- next stop Santa Teresa- but guess what it's raining a lot. And then back roads are horrible! HORRIBLE! actaully we get to some bridges that are in the midst of collasping and yes we went across them and only to return moments later because the road is closed- maybe they should have put that marking before the bridge- but anyway..... we are bummed. I don't mind rain, but Costa Rica rain is something lendendary- LOTS and LOTS of it! I guess thats why they have rainforests.
Decision at hand- what to doooooo? I really didn't want to keep driving around the crappy roads in the rain hoping to get to the beach, in the rain. blah blah blah- so we decide to take the ferry across to the other side- this saved us only about 30mins of trip but we didn't have to drive and its was an experience. We didn't really get out the car much because of the rain, but anyway- destination Jaco- from jaco we figure that we can hit up the cool national parks and then loop around to Siquirres- on the Caribe side to end the trip on a high note with riverrafting... but ugh its raining.
Now I know I have mentioned that the roads are crazy, and people drive crazy, and when its raining they don't drive any slower- I did good, because I was STRESSED OUT! I am sure you can only imagine this. Well let me had a twist- my Spanish speaking co-pliot is basically sleeping. GPS- no name- SUCKS, goes in and out of service and its pouring, I can feel thats Hanzels brakes are shitty- I really don't want to hydroplane and flume off the lift (Jack- thanks for the FB reminder of this- basically just means to fly off something) and to top things off- we have a surf board on the roof- yet to use this stupid board and well its straps are looped into the cabin of the car. Its pouring. Water is absorbed in the straps and passes through the door and is dripping. Now Hayley isn't driving so she can put a bottle of water under the drips, but seat- OOOOSH- I have the water gathering in a bundle of the straps and it is dripping RIGHT ON TOP OF MY HEAD and face! oh and guess what I have my glasses on! JESUS I just wanted to get to Jaco- I have never wanted to be somewhere so bad and after this trip I will never NOT want to go somewhere so bad...
Jaco in a nutshell- 11/2 rain, 11/3 rain, 11/4 rain 11/5 LEAVE! RAIN! Seriously YUCK Jaco and boo the rain. I might right more about why I don't like this seedy town, but thats it for now. Plus I think I need to start shorting up the posts in order to catch up! Im behind.
